Day 2 - Sat 16 Aug 08
Up and out early to meet up with my guide for the day, we plan a route for our 'scramble' and head out into Glencoe. The first bit was an easy walk from where we parked the car along a well worn track. The as we walked up into the hills we branched off the trail and headed off and started to scramble up across the rocks.
We made it to the top of the first hill, which gave some great views of Glencoe. The car seemed a long way down. We pressed on up a ridge to the main summit at 1115m. The ridge was tricky as there were a number of bits where I had to pull myself up with my hands, and the wind which was gusting up to 40mph. I wondered if I'd been blown off the mountain at one point!
If the views on the way up were good, then the ones from the summit were spectacular - with a 360° views of the area, and in the distance Ben Nevis. A quick lunch (out of the wind), and then a scramble down the ridge on the other side of the summit.
Back at the car I turned around and saw the peak that we'd just climbed up and couldn't quite believe it. Hotel, Bar, Food and Bed! Very Happy.
