The train to Moscow from Irkutsk called the 'Baikal' is one of the best trains in Russia, and it was a lot better than the train I arrived on I can assure you!
The important thing to know about this train, is that there IS a shower on board, and seems it takes three days to get to Moscow, this is important information! It costs about two pounds to use the shower, and trust me, taking a shower on a moving train takes a bit of doing, and some sure footedness!
It's on this section of the journey that the border between Europe and Asia is marked by an obelisk. I was lucky enough to get a photograph of the obelisk was we went past it, but others further down the carriage missed out, as a freight train came past in the opposite direction at just the WRONG time!
Every time the train stopped at a station, all the passengers would get off - primarily to stretch their legs, but also to see what things the station vendors are selling - sometimes it was food, sometimes it was trinkets.
The three days flew by, and when I arrived in Moscow it was in the middle of a heatwave!
