I got taken to Guernsey for my birthday, and Guernsey in November isn't everyone's idea of an ideal holiday location, but I had a great time!
I stayed at the Peninsula Hotel in the north west of the island, but at that time of year there weren't that many other guests.
Spent a pleasant day wandering around the streets of St Peter Port, seeing if there were any duty free bargains that I could pickup. I then moved on to the German underground hospital, which was used during World War II - the entrance is rather unimposing, and I wondered if it was going to be that interesting - but the place is huge, it seems to be cut out of the rock and goes back miles! There are plenty of interesting exhibits.
