For some reason Ibuprofen is very cheap on Jersey - it's well worth stocking up!

I travelled to Jersey for a short break between Christmas and New Year - and stayed in the capital St Helier, in The Ommaroo hotel. A place that Miss Marple would feel quite at home in. It had that old world charm that seems missing from modern hotels.

Bergerac is still very popular on the island - and his car is on display in several locations on the island!

Jersey in the snow

While I was there Jersey got hit by a freak snow storm, and almost an inch of snow fell overnight - I thought it was quite funny, as my guide book said "that it rarely snows in the Channel Isles" however when I realised the chaos that it was causing I began to worry - it was New Years eve, and I was on the midday flight back to London.

The airport ran out of de-icer, so many flights where cancelled, in the end British Airways had to fly in a bigger plane than normal, and turn it around quickly before the wings could ice up! I arrived home at 23:50, just in time to celebrate the new year with the family!
