A ticket for Breakfast:
To get breakfast in my hotel, I had to collect a ticket from the reception desk - carry it 20 steps to the door of the restaurant, and then hand it over to the ticket collector. Last time I saw this system was in Russia back in the mid 90's.

I had a few days in Slovenia thanks to EasyJet! I spent a day in the capital Ljubljana, and made it out into the countryside to Bled, and Kranj.

Bled is about an hour north west of Ljubljana via local bus, and it costs about four pounds to get there. There is no doubt, it is a very beautiful place. A small town next to a crystal clear lake with a tiny island with a church on it. If that wasn't enough there is a classic castle on a wooded hill overlooking the lake.

I was hoping to take a boat out to the island, but the prices seem to have leap up since Slovenia has joined the European Union, so I decided to walk around the edge of the lake instead. It's about 6km, it took me about two hours, at a gentle pace, and a cheese sandwich halfway around!

After that I climbed up to the Castle, and managed to get some nice photos!
