Day 14 - Thr 1 Oct 09
Up quite late, walked up to the bakery and got breakfast, then tried (and failed) to change the last of the Albanian Lek into Euros. Found a car hire place that would lend us a car for the day for €35. Bargain. So decided to head up the coast, and found a nice little bay in the north west corner of the island over looking Albania to have a picnic lunch. After that we headed into the hills and found some extremely thin and twisty mountain roads to climb.
The decent the other side was via a (long) series of hairpin bends, but got back to Corfu town with no problems. Put €10 into the tank, and managed to park the car right next to the hire place. Had to wait a hour before handing the keys back as they were shut, so chilled out at the hotel.
We were 3km over the agreed amount but the guy let us off. Met up with an English couple that we'd been chatting to earlier for a quick drink in the evening. So all in all a much better day than yesterday, but I'm still unsure that Corfu is the amazing holiday destination especially as Albania is just across the water.
