Day 16 - Sat 3 Oct 09
Not a bad nights sleep - woke up a few times with the movement of the boat. One of the other guys in the cabin got up at 02:47 and never came back, but I think he'd been asleep all day. The boat arrived in Venice on time at 09:00, and got some great views of Venice, it really is the best way to arrive. Walked out of the port and over a bridge to the railway station, left the bags at left luggage and headed off to see the city.
There are hords of toursits here most of them seem to be American. Venice is uninspiring as I had forgotten it to be. There are only so many photos of cannals that you can take. Found that we were spending more time trying to kill time rather than anything else.
Phil found a shop that sold wine from barrels, they even supplied plastic bottles if you didn't have your own container.
Our train to Paris is crowded - we've got a six berth cabin, and all berths are taken. There's a French couple, and two other blokes (one who is a bit of a pain!). We get six glasses from the buffet car and share the wine. In bed by 22:30
