Day 2 - Sat 30 Apr 05, Airborne
Checkout by 7am, and a bit of a wait to get the Hopper Bus back into the airport. Checked in, and through security by 8:17, but boarding doesn't start until 10:45! Why is time such a strange commodity? There are points were time flies, and others where it drags.
I guess if your mind has nothing to occupy it, then everything slows down.
My checked in luggage was 9.8 kilos, a personal best!
Now this is weird - I've just found the receipt for the Lonely Planet Trans Siberian book that I brought in Boston EXACTLY a year ago today!
I got to Munich with no problems, and traded in 60,000 miles and more points to go Business Class, and by the looks of it that was a good choice - I have a very wide seat, which folds flat! It's a 2x2x2 configuration, and I'm on an internal seat with no one next to me.
The seat is good, it even has a massage option. I've got a individual screen, with a cached Internet browser - they are promising full online access by Autumn 2005.
It's 8am (Japan time) and we've got about 2hrs to go - I seem to have slept through this flight!! I'm looking forward to breakfast now.
I've just described my trip to one of stewardess', she said it's a trip of a life time - but then I've had a few of those - I'm very lucky!
