Day 4 - Mon 2 May 05, Tokyo, Japan
Awake at 3am, but slept on until 9am, got breakfast from the bakery in the basement of the hotel. Then back down to JTB, and saw the same man as I did yesterday, and after a lot of too'ing and fro'ing and checking for a Chinese visa in my passport (yes, luckily I brought it with me!) I managed to get a voucher that I 'm going to be able to swap for a real ticket.
Headed for Shinjuku to get a train over to Tokyo station, then managed to get a seat on the shinkansen to Nikko. It was 2pm by the time I arrived, so I grabbed something to eat in a restaurant on the way up the hill. By the time I got to the temples it was 3:30, I got a 'day' ticket and headed off at a pace! Got to see most of the temples, but not the waterfalls. But all in all it was well worth the trip.
Walked back to the station, caught the local train to Utusamiyo, got some thing to eat, a quick walk around and then a double decker Shinkansen back to Tokyo.
Back at the hotel I found that Charlie had rang, so rang her back and arranged to meet up early tomorrow. Packed my bag and finally got around to eating the cream cake I bought in Tokyo station this morning - it was still cold, due to the built in ice pack in the box!
