Day 24 - Sun 22 May 05, Trans-Mongolian train, Russia
Awoke to rain, well I think it's drizzle but hey. I waiting for the next stop to see if I can get breakfast from the platform rather than the restaurant car.
There is a woman on the train with a dog, and I saw bloke last night with a cat! We're a real noah's ark. Spring is fully underway here, all the trees are in leaf, and it's quite warm on the platforms.
We've just passed the Europe/Asia border, but more importantly I've found that this train has a shower! I'll be using that tomorrow!
I had an unwelcome visitor in my carriage last night - a mosquito, it bit me on the neck, and it's now the size of a golf ball!
We haven't seen Guy all day - it's been down with Will and Lucinda playing cards. Supper was taken in the dining car, with a bottle of Russian champagne - didn't get to bed until gone midnight, during that a huge thunderstorm was taking place.
