Day 21 - Thr 1 May 2003
Up quite late - walked down town, and tried to get Lufthansa to add the points to my 'miles and more card', but even if they did I wouldn't have enough points for an upgrade and I'd have to book it a week in advance.
Went to the tourist info place, and booked my bus and accommodation in Rotorua for tomorrow. Let's hope that it's a bit more interesting than Auckland. Auckland has nothing of merit, not even an interesting building. Took the local bus up to 'One Tree Hill' , and saw the 'stardome', but they only have shows at 7pm. Walked up the hill and got some good shots of the city. Walked most of the way back into town. My feet are hurting now.
In the evening I wandered out into town, and found a very nice little Italian restaurant. A large pizza (I don't think the waiter believed that I could eat a large one - but I did, crust and all!), a larger, and a Tiramisu - all for NZ$32 - bargain!
I'm already thinking about my next trip. Italy, or Helsinki, with a day trip to Tallinn? South America, Qatar, or Syria - it's all possible.
The gap at the bottom of the door of my room is so large that when I turn the light out the room is still lit from the hallway light! I could limbo under that door...
