Although the flight was smooth(ish) I didn't get much (if any) sleep. I'm never going on that length of flight again - or if I am, I'm going to pay for business class!
Chatted to a nice couple from Essex on the flight - but by the end of the flight I'd had enough, my back hurt, my head hurt, my stomach hurt! Got through immigration and customs no problem, and then cheated and paid 500bht for a return limousine taxi into Bangkok, but I think it was worth NOT having to queue in 36C heat for a metered taxi.
The hotel is okay, the room smells of damp, but it does have a TV and a fridge. Had a quick wander down to the river front, and almost got run over by a car on a pedestrian crossing on the way back to the hotel. Got some sweeties from the 7-11 and retired to hotel and bed - it has been a long (2) days!
