Day 20 - Wed 21 Apr 2004
Matsumoto, Japan
Well, today was not a good day. Got on the train to Nagano. Tried to by a power cord to charge my camera, but had a bit of trouble finding one. Ended up asking an American guy outside Starbucks if he knew of an electrical shop. Had a good chat, he was here during the Olympics and make a lot of money selling lapel pins.
In the railway station I saw a tall stunning blond lady, she saw me gave me a big smile and said "hello". I don't normally get that sort of reaction - so I put it down to "strangers in a strange land". As I wandered around town I spotted a bar with pictures of the western hostesses - now I could be completely wrong, but one of those ladies looked familiar..
Finally got my cable for 600 yen, but as I tried to take photos of the temple I noticed that all the pictures are way too over exposed. I thought this could be due to the battery running out - So I had a quick look around the temple and headed back to Matsumoto.
The bad news is that even with a charged battery the camera is still broken. I'm tempted to buy another camera to document the rest of my journey, but it's going to be cheaper in the US.
