Day 37 - Fri 7 May 2004
Baltimore
Kind of a weird day - up late. David, Emerald and I drove to Baltimore. Wandered around the harbour, had a drink, and then did a seafood buffet. Food is available anywhere in America, and in vast quantities, soft drinks are 'free refills', and the cost of eating out can be the same as buying the raw materials from a supermarket. A menu will have a vast array of choice - ten chicken items is not uncommon. Waiters are very much more in your face, as they want to impress to get a good (20%) tip.
After that we made our way up to the ball park to see a game of baseball. The stadium is huge, maybe there are football grounds in the UK like this but...
Unfortunately we had a rain stoppage, and after the 3rd innings we decided to call it a day (the game did eventually restart) - but I was glad that we did go. I even slept in the back of the truck on the way back home! I must have been tired. Maybe my 37 days on the road are catching up on me? Bangkok seems so long ago!
