Day 15 - Wed 18 #1 Apr 07 - New Zealand
Up at 07:00 to get a shower, headed downstairs to checkout - $59 a bargain! My taxi turned up just before 07:45, and we headed off to the airport. The driver was impressed by my lack of luggage. I checked in, and got 01D again, the same seat as I had on the way down to Christchurch. Hung around until the flight was called - they have no regulations about bringing fluids on board. The flight time to Auckland is 1hr, and then a 5hr flight to Papette. But because I cross the International Date Line, I get today all over again.
Walked over to the international terminal and I was a bit worried as there was no sign of my flight on the board. Then I worked out that I was on a code share, and it doesn't help that they display boarding times here, not departure times. I checked in with no stress, and then headed off to pay my $25 departure tax. Lots of people were queuing up to pay, but I used the automatic kiosk and my credit card.
Through security almost leaving my wallet behind, and onto Duty Free. Due to the issues with my camera I decided to buy a new one. I got a display Fuji Z3 for $284. So when I get to Tahiti I can dump the box and post some of the leads etc home. Near the gate I managed to change $NZ25 into 1500 Pacific French Francs. No Euros here! The Pacific French Francs are very pretty. The flight is landing in Papette and then heads on to LA and on again to New York! That's a killer of a flight.
