Day 31 - Wed 2 May 07 - Cuzco, Peru
Up early for breakfast and then down to the square to pickup my tour. There was a lot of to'ing and fro'ing as a few tour agencies pooled their clients to fill a single bus, by 09:00 we're off and the first stop is Pisaq with a stop in the market. I skipped that and found a cafe with a balcony. I got a cup of tea and a cookie and watched all the shopping taking place below.
Then it was onto the sacred valley proper, we were shown around a number of Inca ruins, which were interesting but didn't really grab me for sum reason. A long walk there and a long walk back. I'm sitting next to a Japanese guy on the bus who loved my attempts at Japanese.
Back on the bus to Ollantambo for more ruins, terraces and some grain stores perched on the side of a mountain opposite. The final stop of the day was a church in Chinchero, but the sunset over the snow capped mountains while we were there was the real highlight.
Then is was back to Cuzco for a pizza at Chez Maggy - v.nice, and over to the Cross Keys a british pub transferred to Latin America, chatted to a couple of nurses who are on leave for three months. Back to the hotel were I paid my bill as I have (another) early start tomorrow.
