Day 1 - Wed 12 September 2007
Left work at 13:30 and caught a taxi to the station and a train down to Stansted. There was next to no queue at the check-in desk, and when I turned around I spotted Phil about five people back in the queue that had developed behind me! I didn't have any bags to check, so I managed to get a priority boarding pass.
Through security in super quick time and aboard the flight - I managed to bag the first row seats, and saved one for Phil - he had to queue up in the non priority queue!
The flight was uneventful, but we missed the €0.75 bus, and had to pay €22 to get into Alghero. I rang my B&B owner and got him to come over and open up, dumped my stuff and then headed over to Phil's hotel, then it was back into town to get something to eat.
Ended up at an open air restaurant just around the corner from my B&B, we sat next to two English girls who were on the last night of their holiday. Moved onto a bar and spent the rest of the night putting the world to rights over a few bottles of red wine - at 03:30 I decided to head for bed!
