Day 01 - Sun 16 Mar 08
Lunch with some friends, and then got dropped off at the railway station. Down to Kings Cross and a walk over to Paddington, the Heathrow Express to the airport, and a free local bus, and another walk up to the Premier Inn.
The last couple of days have been spent working out a new route to avoid Tibet as due to the riots the borders have been closed to all westerners. I've found a flight between Hong Kong and Kathmandu, so it looks like I've got a return visit to Hong Kong!
I've had more than my fair share of worries about this trip. Some of the places I'll be heading are rather off the beaten track. However the one that every one else is worried about I have no issues with - Iran. I know that I'll have no problems there, and can't wait to get there!
I've decided to keep my stuff to the bare minimum, and I'm only taking one take-on sized bag with me. 7.5Kg in total.
