Day 50 - Sun 04 May 08
Up at 06:30 and I was hoping for a quick checkout, but there where some people already at recipetion checking in, and that had to be done first. Eventually I got a bill for 7,000R, when I asked what it was for (seems I'd already paid up front for my room) the bloke said "I don't know, but it's a small amount". I laughed and said goodbye.
Caught a taxi down to the bus station and got a ticket for bus 4 for 60,000R. Then it was just a case of waiting for the bus to appear, which it did at 08:00. It didn't leave until almost 08:30, as there was the usual musical chairs as the mains and females where seperated to ensure no one sat next to one another.
The trip was uneventful and we arrived in Shiraz at about 14:30. On the way in you can see that Shiraz is quite a hilly place, but the flat bits are all cultivated. There's also a lot of evidence of the new railway line that is being built. Walked downtown from the bus station and tried a couple of hotels. The first was so basic and they wanted 150,000R. The next was better but they wanted 200,000R for a room that wasn't a patch on the one I had last night. Nor were they interested in any form of haggling. Headed next door to the Susan Hotel and got an okay room with no AC for 140,000R.
Headed out to get something to eat and ended up eating some sort of pizza (38,000R) and the walked up to the Bazzar, which was fun, but just like every other bazzar!
