Day 76 - Fri 30 May 08
Another hot day today, so decided to walk down town and climb up to the top of the Citadel - I must be nuts! However there are good views from the top, luckily there's a little stall selling ice-creams at the top so I sit down in the shade and watch the world go by. At the top there's the Liberty Statue, a woman holding a palm leaf above here head. Walk down and head for St. Stephen's basilica and pay the 500f to go up on to the roof. It's a long climb up (you can cheat and take the lift) but another good view of the city is the result.
After that I headed back to the hostel to chill out before heading out again to get some shots of the city at night. Made it up to the cathedral on the hill which was technically shut as a English choir were making preparations for a recital, but I managed to get in and have a quick look around. Got a cup of tea from a cafe overlooking the river and parliament. Managed to emulate some of the photos I took back in 1996, and got some nice ones just as the sun was setting. Back to the Hostel by just after 22:00.
