Day 4 - Mon 20 Sep 04

Breakfast at the hotel, and then a walk up to the bus station to catch the bus to Bled. The bus left on time, and got to Bled at 10am, the weather as we were leaving Ljubljana didn't look too promising, but as soon as we got past Kranj it all cleared up.

I had my second breakfast (in true Hobbit style) by the lake in Bled, and I was going to take a boat over to the church on the island in the middle of the lake, until I found out the price - inflation has hit since my copy of the Lonely Planet was written. In the end I decided to walk around the lake instead.

Well - it seemed like a good idea at the time, but after 6km, my feet were saying otherwise. I stopped at a small supermarket at the other end of the lake to get lunch, and found a 80Sit note on the ground outside, worth about 25p, but it did pay for a chocolate bar!

After doing the circuit of the lake, and getting some great photos, I walked up the hill to the castle that over looks it - 1000Sit to get in, but the views alone were well worth it. After that it was a stroll back to the bus station where I caught the bus back to Kranj.

I can't say there's awful lot to do in Kranj, but I did take a wander through the place, and found the old town square which was picturesque enough. Then it was back on to the next bus, and back to Ljubljana. All in all a good day!
