Day 4 Mon 1 Dec 2003
Early breakfast and on the road by 8:30, drove to La Ovatra and had a quick look around, nice but I've seen the same sort of town elsewhere. Tried to buy an Xd card for my camera, but the prices aren't that good. Then headed up into the mountains in the north of the island. However turned back, and the clouds were coming down, and visibility was cut to next to nothing.
Headed for Laguna - very nice, had a wander around and took some photos of the older buildings in the town. Parked on the edge of town and walked in - no big hills this time, unlike La Ovatara!
Dumped the car back at the airport - the clouds really have come down, and the temperature has dropped off as well. Chatted to a lady in the check-in queue, I recognised her from the Parador - it seems she's a volcanologist, and she was attending a disaster planning meeting there!
The plane was late landing due to the cloud (it seems they had to do a 'go around') so it was late taking off. Got into Heathrow three quarters of an hour late. By the time I got to the bus station I was late, and it looked like I'd have to wait and hour and a half for the next one. As luck would have it the bus was running late as well, and 10 minutes later it turned up at the stop!
